Subject: Hoping you are the right person
Dear Winnie [Bolter]: [email protected]
I am hoping you are the right person to contact at Local Union , IBEW Local 2222 Retirees. I want to extend an invitation to you or someone else who might like to attend a memorial service for one of your former union members.
Exactly 40 years ago -- we think -- our cousin, Letteria Catherine Post, retired from Verizon, or what became Verizon. She died Dec 31, 2013 at age 86. She was a single woman who never married or had children. I do not have any evidence that she joined or participated in, or donated to the Retiree Club -- but she rarely went out or visited with any organization beyond her local Arlington Senior Center after retirement, and then did not go out any more at all.
When she still spoke about such things she spoke often about her union, and how hard everyone worked to obtain and maintain benefits for workers like her. She saved every single record and card she ever received from her fellow workers, and in many ways they were her closest companions during her working years, since she had no family of her own beyond immediate relatives, of which I was one. One of her retirement cards said "A Gift for You" and came from Local 2222. I have no idea what that gift consisted of, but I know she appreciated it.
If your or one of your senior members would like to join us at her memorial service we would be pleased and honored to have her [or him] join us and help us recall the importance of the union today and in those long-ago days, and have lunch with us, as a way of saying thank you for that long ago gift from the Union members to Letteria.
Best to you all,

Dear Friends: After “Sis”, our cousin Letteria Post, died at
the end of December last year, we agreed to plan some moments of remembrance
for her later in the coming year.
That time is now here, and we are wishing that people who knew her will want to meet and talk with one another about how they remember “Sis.” She was cremated and her ashes will be buried in the Swenson Family plot, next to her aunt Sarah and her cousin John Swenson, as was her wish. We invite you to join us,
Saturday, May 3, 11 a.m.
At the graveside on Field Road
Across from Flicker Path
{Near Grove Street Gate}
Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge MA 02138
